Sausage, Mushroom & Cheddar Cheese Bake

Start your day with a complete breakfast. We like to prep this the night before so in the morning it’s as simple as taking it out of the fridge and popping it in the oven!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Bulk Pork Sausage
  • 6 cups Cubed Bread
  • 1 cup Fresh Tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Fresh Mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Vern's Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 10 Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tsp Ground Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook sausage and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, drain
  2. Place half of the bread cubes in a greased 9x13 baking dish
  3. Top with 2 cups of the sausage mix and half of the cheese and tomatoes
  4. Repeat layers
  5. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper
  6. Pour over bread mixture
  7. Bake, uncovered at 350° 50-55 minutes or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean
  8. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving
